When I read the phrase, “having it all”, that means that the person has everything that could possibly make them happy. To me that means having a house with my wife and having multiple children preferably three(2 boys and 1 girl), as well as, a stable income from my career as a teacher. Since I was 15 years old I discovered that I had a passion for teaching, my true goal was to be a High School Theater Teacher, but plans change. I am an English teacher and I like it well enough, not going to complain. Having it all means not coveting what others have or wishing for more and I believe these are essential mindsets for anyone to be successful in life in general. It’s difficult living a happy life if one is always coveting what others have, its better to acknowledge what one has now and continue to strive for what you want to achieve instead of looking at someone else and wishing for what they had. Why waste time looking at someone else when you can go out and improve yourself right now. My goal is definitely attainable and I will achieve it someday.
My current struggle with achieving my goals is clearing my induction program which I will have completed by the end of the 2024-2025 school year putting me one step closer to “having it all”. When I was a high school student I went to summer camps with a group called The Young Americans, they still exist today. They inspired me to become a teacher. I fell in love with what they did as they showed me how to write music, basics on acting, and taught me choreography to a variety of different songs. When I graduated high school I even joined The Young Americans and received my AA in Performing Arts with an emphasis in Acting and I’ve used that experience to improve my teaching skills. I believe 70% of teaching is acting. This includes a teacher showing their passion, wit, and humor for the subject that they teach all important skills that acting can help teach a person.
